Below is a partial list of service opportunities to help fulfill our vision and mission at First Baptist Church. Please contact the ministry leader in an area of interest, or call the Church Office at (765) 529-2687 with any questions you may have.

  • Prayer Ministry

    • Pray through and help update the weekly Prayer Guide

    • Gather on Wednesday for Prayer Awakening midweek prayer service

    • Join us for prayer time Noon to 1:30 p.m. Mondays in the Church Office

  • Care and Share Ministry

    • Attend weekly prayer meeting, Noon Mondays in the Church Office

    • Visit people (shut-ins, hospital, nursing homes)

    • Send cards or make phone calls

    • Provide loving care delivering/providing meals

  • Family Ministry

    • Leaders

    • Provide food, snacks or other resources

    • Prayer partnership

    • Volunteers: Teachers, helpers, mentors

  • Children’s Ministry

    • Leaders

    • Provide food, snacks or other resources

    • Prayer partnership

    • Time Machine helpers during the week and/or on Sunday

  • Men’s Ministry

    • Help with practical church and community needs

    • Help with monthly men’s breakfast, service projects, discipleship

  • Worship Team

    • Volunteer as a musician and/or vocalist

  • Sound Tech & Media Team

    • Work a camera; run the slideshow, sound, online sound stream, or lights during worship services

  • Security, Safety & Health Team

    • Monitor front doors and movement within the building

    • Utilize medical training for emergencies throughout the building

    • Help maintain a safe & healthy environment for everyone

  • Church Office

    • Substitute receptionist to answer phones, greet guests, and help as needed

    • Be part of an internal audit team

  • Courtesy Dinner Team

    • Prepping and serving funeral meals for families after services

  • Women’s Ministry

    • Prayer partnership

    • Help with planning, organizing, and/or clean up for events

    • Discipleship opportunities

  • Senior Adults Ministry

    • Help with monthly meal fellowship

    • Help coordinate events for senior adults

  • Hospitality

    • Volunteer to crochet and/or knit prayer shawls

    • Donate yarn (2 skeins per prayer shawl)

    • Gift cards for new babies, hospitalization, and appreciation

    • Coordinate church fellowship events

    • Assist with Feed the Flock meals

  • Communion Team

    • Preparation of the elements

    • Regular servers

    • Substitute servers

    • Clean up cups in Worship Center following service

  • Welcome Center

    • Greet new visitors at ‘Start Here’ desk

    • Hand out gifts to visitors & help them complete yellow Connection Card

    • Ushers and Greeters (welcoming and departing)

    • Courtesy Parking

    • Closing the facility after services

  • Events Team

    • Set-up/teardown of tables and chairs

    • Clean after events

  • Communication

    • Webpage and/or social media Graphics

    • Routine check/upkeep of the property

    • Be on call for specific areas of maintenance

    • Custodial services like spring cleaning or periodic deep cleaning Landscaping, pulling weeds, picking up trash, etc.
